Canoe.

Well back to the searching game. So many bands, so little time.

So I've been listening to the new Laura Marling cd due to my lovely new roommates, one from Durango, the other has been dubbed by many as the "ukulele girl". However, I know them as Chelsea and Hannah. As Chelsea and I spent 10 minutes trying to convince Hannah to name her band Canoe, I found a gal I quite like.
Nikki Lane.

In other news, Beirut's new album has been out for a couple weeks now (about three now) and here's a new song. I'm sure it's been heard but I'm loving on it.

HIYAAAAAA! I don't quite have Scottish slang down like Paige, but here's some Scottish music. You can really hear the accent.
Depths and Scatabrainz feat. Gasp

The Physics-

Memory Tapes - this band has been around since 2009, a compilation of Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes. After listening to their new work, I will say it's all kind of similar (the Al Green effect as I like to call it). This song is off of their first album "Seek Magic".

will you free me from the logic that i've known.

Moving forward is one of the hardest lessons I've learned in life. It took a lot of struggle to start looking towards the future and to let go of those who aren't a part of the future. There's so much importance in all that has happened in the past, and I couldn't fathom "turning my back". The phrase "going in different directions" used to scare me. And then a thought comforted me. After many miles alone, many hours in an OR, and a trip to Seattle, I realized I wasn't losing anything. I may be walking forward towards my future, but that doesn't mean I can't take a glance towards the receding road behind me.

All the memories and all the people wait there. They're in the music, in the photos, just waiting for that single moment when I want to be nostalgic. Every song reminds me of a certain person, a certain feeling, a certain moment in life. And those songs always exist and the person comes back into my head, burning clearly like a shooting star in the night sky. I've certainly had to walk different paths than some people and at one point wished that our paths would combine again in the future, but I find peace in the fact that I'll never truly forget even if our paths never converge again.

So here are the songs, the memories, the people that are my past, present, future... etc.

The Hush Sound - You Are the Moon
