If it's quiet....
This one is different. These are all songs that are pretty well known except maybe Walkabout, which I just found out was collaborated with Panda Bear. Who knew? Just found out that I liked Panda Bear from the weekends at Chase Ct. and apparently I heard a taste of them early in September.
Anyways this blog is themed towards that feeling. It's a common feeling that revolves around the want to wander. I just couldn't get to sleep, thinking about road trips in the summer, or flying somewhere, or hopefully going to India/Asia within the next year. I just started to feel antsy with the fact that I feel so stationary going to school.
Over winter break I was able to hike, watch surgeries, run, just spend time finding bands, and I didn't want to go back to school in the slightest. I feel most at peace either in nature or running towards a future destination, or just running in general. So it gets just frustrating studying and studying when I want to just meander up a mountain and make a day of it, sit by a lake, make a makeshift raft to hang out on. So this is for that feeling. These songs will get me through the next four weeks when I got sick of school about the first week of winter quarter.
Modest Mouse - the world at large
Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski Day & For the Widows in Paradise, For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti
Atlas Sound - Walkabout
The Dodos - Jodi

Tell your story before old age kills your plans
The blog is centered around When Saints Go Machine. The song posted is Fail Forever. This band is from Copenhagen and coincidently enough if you like them on facebook, you cannot read a single status they post because it is in another language. I don't know much else really.
Grouplove - Colours. Yes they spelled it the British way, but they are however an American band that formed on the Greek Island of Crete while doing an art residency....? residency? I thought that residencies were reserved for surgeons and dentists, but apparently artists can do them too. Anyways, they've been touring with Florence and the Machines. Cool.
Caribou - Odessa. Good shit. Caribou used to be Manitoba but was threatened to be sued by the Dictators frontman who liked to call himself by that name. If you're wondering, yes I did get all this information from Wikipedia. I decided to put some effort into this blog.
Wesafari - Matchbox. Wesafari started in Boston with Rick Wright and then moved to a Seattle group when band members were met. They're chill.
So Made In Heights - All the Places. This song is from album Winter Pigeons (songs to raise your dead spirits). I guess that's all I'm going to say about that.
Last one. This is by a Welsh band called Friends Electric and the song is Golden Blood.

music players.
I have no idea but the music players really only align right if you click on an individual blog. If you try an click on 2011 or an archived month... everything is all screwy... je ne sais pas!
Baby, won't you show me warmth again?
Some local Durango boys. 2Dubaii.
Some CU Boulder boys. Common Ties.
Shoofly by Common Ties
Oh man. Snowball music festival. There was not a single act that I was not completely stoked on for the two out of three days that I went. This band, Local Natives is not new or anything but I just saw them live and I'm stoked. Local Natives - Sun Hands
Basically download Gorilla Manor. You won't be disappointed.
This band is from LA and they got me into the show! Thanks to the great house of Chase Ct for offering them some Pabst, I got a free artist pass for the whole weekend and so here I am promoting this band who is touring with Local Natives and playing a show with Foster the People (another band I am very fond of). Superhumanoids - Cranial Contest. You can check them out on Soundcloud or facebook!
Big Gigantic was another favorite from Snowball. Who would have thought an electric band with a sax solo could tear it up like that? Literally blew my mind. I don't think anyone in the crowd wasn't just as pleased as I was with their sick jams. This Boulder band is getting huge, better jump on the bandwagon before its uncool. Big Gigantic - Black and Yellow Remix
Well it's now finals time at DU so here's some slow ass music to go with my mood about tests. But they'll be done soon and then nothing but sunshine! awww yeah!
Lord Huron - The Stranger

a boy meets girl and girl meets boy. got a nasty habit called rock n' roll
Oh Valentine's Day. So basically here's a mix of all songs good that I listened to yesterday. There were others as well, but I haven't transferred them from my iPod to my computer yet, so sorry... Anyways, these songs are really just the best of the best. I would say I was feeling the Sounds the most yesterday, and of course Tennis because when am I not listening to them. But here are some others. My Valentine's mix. Like a mix tape, but I mean less cool because it's not a tape, this is a blog. Duh. And for once I'm using pink players. Damn I really know how to work a theme.
And this is pure love
Tennis - Long Boat Pass
John Mellencamp - Hurt So Good. Obviously.
Bittersweet - The Mating Game
Black Joe Lewis & The Honey Bears - Bitch, I Love You
G. Love & Special Sauce - Gimme Some Lovin'
AWOLNATION - Guilty, Filthy Soul
The Sounds - Rock N' Roll, Tony the Beat
Rilo Kiley - Portion for Foxes
And there is no Valentine's Day without a classic. Atmosphere - Don't Ever Fucking Question That
